Core Public Sector

The vast majority of our members work for the good of the nation in the core public service. These members work in all parts of the country - indeed, some even work abroad in embassies and consulates around the world. Many of these public service employees work to improve living and working conditions for all Canadians. We represent employees in the following departments and agencies:

National Parks and Historic Sites

A great majority of our members work in national parks and historic sites across the country. These members are passionate about the preservation of our natural and historical treasures.

Museum and Arts Sector

Our members also work in a number of national museums, performing guided tours, research, exhibit planning and a host of other tasks. Meanwhile, our members at the Canada Council for the Arts help fund our nations' brightest artistic minds. Finally, the members working at the National Arts Centre help support Canada's national stage for performing arts.

Education Sector

Our union is proud to represent teachers and support staff who work for the Akwesasne Mohawk board of education, in Ontario. We also represent teachers who work in federal schools operating on First Nations reserves – these schools fall under Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada.

Non-Profit Sector

Currently, the Union of National Employees represents employees in two non-profit workplaces. We represent members who assist women in their recovery process and members who work to ensure food and livelihood security in farming communities in the global south.

Gaming Industry

Our union is proud to represent members working at Rideau Carleton Slots. These members include slot operation workers, servers, marketing officers, valets, coat check clerks, shuttle bus drivers, housekeeping staff and maintenance personnel, among others.
